Magai "Chicken Dance" (2018)

The Future of Small Cities Institute is excited to announce Jack Magai as the FOCUS Lab's first artist-in-residence. Jack, a longtime fixture in the Troy arts and dance scenes, produces work that "illuminates the tensions between the sensed world and the conceived world." His artworks often involve moving through urban landscapes, revealing that which is hidden in plain sight. In concert with the FOCUS Lab's exhibition on Hudson Riverfronts, Jack is working on an experiential site-specific shoreline performance piece that will go up at the end of October 2022.
